The Nutcracker 2007


The Shoals Ballet Company under the direction of Vicki Pace will present the Nutcracker on Thursday, December 6th at 7:00 p.m. The cast of over 75 dancers will be performing at Norton Auditorium on the U.N.A. Campus. The performance features breathtaking costumes from the New York City ballet and backdrops from Hollywood California.

A traditional Christmas Story where toys and treats come alive on the eve of Christmas day. The story is told through the eyes of a little girl named Clara, played by
Kate Collier.
Her dreams take her through the land of sweets where she is greeted by the Sugar Plum Fairy and caviler, Sarah Jo Clark and Andrew Davis.

She is entertained by performers from the land of sweets. Spanish is played by Rebecca Daniels and the Snow King and Queen are Christina Carroll and Nick McDaniel.

Act 1 will feature ballroom dancers playing the parts of parents.
They are Bobby Clingan , Suzy Robbins, Robert Adler , Brenda Stowe,
Mo and Annette Mallette, Tommy and Shannon Yates, Davis and Linda Hughey.


The story will delight goers of all ages. The fight scene between and Mouse King and The Nutcracker are favorites for the boys and the breathtaking costumes are adored by all.
The production has become a 20 year tradition in the Shoals and audiences will enjoy every minute.

A special performance for students will be on Thursday, Dec. 6th at 9:15 a.m. at Norton
Auditorium.

Dancing with the Stars

MARLEE MATLIN & FABIAN SANCHEZ - Academy Award winning actress, Marlee Matlin (Children of a Lesser God) teams up with newcomer Fabian Sanchez from Birmingham. Fabian is the 2006 World Mambo Champion, a four-time Fred Astaire National Champion and the United States Rising Star, and the 1999 American Rhythm Champion. Be sure to vote for Fabian and his partner.
