I've also added a ton of new workshops in Section III. Some are Lindy Hop, Blues, Charleston, and of course Ballroom.

Here's a safe and practical suggestion about shoes, especially for the ladies. Spike heels combined with open toe shoes can be a recipe for injuries.

School is back in session! But, no need to bring your books, all you need to bring is your dance shoes! The Atlanta Swing Era Dance Association (ASEDA) is proud to announce the return of the Atlanta Varsity Showdown (AVS)! What will you get at AVS? You will get an Ivy League swing education at community swing college prices. AVS is happening in Atlanta on October 24th - 26th, 2008. Our visiting professor this year is Andrew Sutton. Our esteemed resident professors include: Andrew Thigpen, Erica DeBlasio, Liz Johnson and Jeff Camozzi.
Classes will offer instruction for everyone, from the novice dancer to those with many hours spent on the dance floor. Your weekend pass will give you access to top-notch schooling in Lindy, Charleston, jazz, musicality, movement and many other specialty classes. Your weekend pass also includes dancing with live music with the Solomon Douglas Band. Saturday night will go well into the night all at the same venue. Exams (contests) will include Jack & Jill, Strictly Lindy and a Team Division. These will be great fun and an opportunity for you to compete or cheer on your favorite competitor.
