Many of you may fondly remember CZCs X-mas events with Dennis Stroughmat and Morris Ardoin and friends - fantastic Musicians (Creole style)…. If you go to Atlanta this Sat. Dec 10th, you are invited to a special event:
MORRIS ARDOIN CREOLE TRIO HOUSE PARTY at the HOME OF ROBERT KWASHA, 9795 Huntcliff Trace. Atlanta 30350
5:30 – 7 PM POT LUCK DINNER
7–8 PM TALK ON CREOLE MUSIC AND CULTURE
8–10 PM MUSIC
$15 SUGGESTED DONATION
The oldest son of the legendary Alphonse “Bois Sec” Ardoin, Morris grew up around Creole La La music, the precursor to today’s Zydeco. He has promised us stories, two-steps, shuffles and bais bas’s. This is old-style, traditional dance hall music, performed with Morris on accordion and Dennis Stroughmatt on fiddle. They go on the road one week a year, and so this is a rare treat. Both men are experts on Creole history, and are looking forward to sharing their knowledge and music with ACZA.
